Hey everyone!
The amazing Icebreaker694 (thanks!) tagged me to do this wonderful book tag that is making me crave candies. Seriously, writing this post is a hard enough job when your mouth is watering.
Please don’t hate me for this. I think this book suits the description for me. It is deep, has beautiful quotes and outstanding writing, but just not my thing. Maybe because I already knew the SPOILER. But it didn’t have an impact on me nor moved me in the way it seems to have moved others.
This book is amazing. I mean there is just something so unique, appealing and attractive about a book being narrated by death. If that doesn’t fascinate you, I don’t know what will.
Urgh existential crisis!
I didn’t really understand this book. I’m a person that focuses more on the story, rather than the hidden metaphors. Guess this book is just a ‘phony’ (no offense). I think a lot of you are going to hate me after this post.
This one took me a while to decide.
Not the romance between Karou and Akiwa, no. Zuzanna and Mik! Though their romance wasn’t central to the story, it still made me go aww. They’re so cute together.
Don’t. Read. No. Scary. Books.
Sorry.
No, I don’t have anything against John Green. He’s a great person and his writing style is downright beautiful. His stories, not so much. This one took me ages to finish.
Aah the nostalgia!
I loved the entire Malory Towers series back then. It made me fall in love with boarding schools before Harry Potter did. I still like to gaze at my collection and reminisce those good old days.
Congratulations on yummy book tag, @avathenerd. :9

I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I still need to finish the series though. And I feel the same as you about John Green’s books. Great choices and thanks for the tag!

It’s a great series! Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels that way about John Green books. I was afraid I would get murdered in my sleep lol. Thanks for reading and you’re welcome!

I didn’t get a notification lol! Thanks for the tag! I don’t like John Green, I think he is overrated and I also did not find The Fault in Our Stars spectacular at all. Hmm, I’ve been meaning to check out Smoke and Bone, Enid Blyton, I loved the Twins at St. Claire lol, I think I read a Malory tower book, I read so many Enid Blyton though ha ha.

You’re very welcome! I also think that TFIOS was a little overrated. Even I’ve read so many Enid Blyton books! They had a huge role in my childhood. Thanks for reading! 🙂

The Catcher in the Rye is so overrated. I’m with you!
(Scary books are too much for me, too)
Thanks for sharing!

Yay I thought I was the only one on both of these lol! Catcher in the rye was a little boring for me and I don’t particularly have a fondness for the scary genre.
Thanks for reading! 🙂

I totally agreed about The Fault in Our Stars – I never felt anything from it as everyone I else knew loved it forever and ever. Great thoughts! 🙂

I tried to read The Book Thief and ended up quitting halfway through. The book had amazing writing, really good, and the storyline is intense. I don’t know what it was. Maybe it just wasn’t the right time for me.

Ohh maybe it is your Apple. Healthy, award winning, critically acclaimed, but just not your thing.
I do suggest you to continue it though. I found it to be a very interesting book.

Thank you so much for the tag, Ava 🙂 Oh I loved Malory Towers too when I was younger! I loved how the friendship was portrayed and the whole boarding school feel hahaha
I’m not a horror fan either but I tried to give some horror stories a try this Halloween and was pleasantly surprised 🙂

You’re very welcome! Malory Towers was such a wonderful book. But then again, all Enid Blytons were wonderful haha.
I guess I’ll try them out sometime. Thanks for reading. 😀

The Book Thief is amazing! I’ve read it twice and cried both times. I recommended it to my friend and she started crying in the middle of class. It’s such a good book, even if it reduces me to tears.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is on my list. Still have to get to it. I’ve heard nothing but good reviews, so I can’t wait.
I couldn’t even read the first chapter of Looking for Alaska. Congratulations for completing it! I was fine with A Fault in Our Stars, though. I might try Looking for Alaska again someday.
Anyway, really interesting post! 🙂

The Book Thief indeed is an amazing book. It brought me to tears as well.
You should definitely check daughter if smoke and bone whenever you can. It deserves all the praise and reviews coming its way.
Even I had dropped looking for Alaska midway and only opened it next after a very long hiatus. But yeah, did manage to finish it only to be disappointed.
Thanks for reading!
