A Court Of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass

Yes! I finally bought this book! Everyone has so many wonderful things to say about this book and that’s only making me more curious and intrigued.

Can’t wait to read it.

 

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I always find myself returning to Hogwarts when reality is crushing me hard. It is the best world to get lost in.

 

Is it weird that i don’t read scary books? I’m also a scaredy cat like Jessica (you’re not alone!)

I usually avoid reading OR watching anything even remotely haunting as i get scared too easy and don’t have much liking towards the genre. The only scary books i’ve ever read are the Goosebumps books, and we all know how “scary ” they are.

 

 Winter by Marissa Meyer

I am currently reading this fourth installment of the fantastic Lunar Chronicles series and i’m deeply enjoying it so far. Still got a few pages left to complete it (watch out for my review).

Winter is a great character, by the way.

 

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

I know i’ve mentioned this book in my previous tags but i just HAD to go with this book here. This book perfectly and aptly fits the description of ‘lyrically beautiful’. From Noah’s self-portraits to Jude’s bible, everything is written in such a creative and ingenious way. Now that i got another opportunity to mention this book, here’s another quote capturing the lyrical beautifulness of this book –

“Or maybe a person is just made up of a lot of people,” I say. “Maybe we’re accumulating these new selves all the time.” Hauling them in as we make choices, good and bad, as we screw up, step up, lose our minds, find our minds, fall apart, fall in love, as we grieve, grow, retreat from the world, dive into the world, as we make things, as we break things.”

 

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

First of all, the title of this book is soo misleading. This story features a girl with a dragon tattoo but it doesn’t wholly revolve around her. The story revolves around a mystery of another girl that DOESN’T have any such tattoo. Secondly, the build up and suspense was good , but it turned out to be too predictable. The book seemed stretched in the middle and also got quite boring. I’ll definitely wouldn’t mind carving it up but given that i bought it from my own hard-earned money, i’ll have to refrain from doing so.

 

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins

This series was a journey of a lifetime. A thrilling and adventurous hike to a mountain of bliss and enlightenment. The heartaches and heartbreaks on the way only made it more memorable, even though i had literally wanted to drop Mockingjay from this same mountain after i’d finished reading it.

 

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

It’s a sweet tale of even sweeter Hobbits and Dwarves. Light hearted and fun, it is the best book to read to relax and refresh your mind.

 

 Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan

I’m one of the very few people who read Percy Jackson before Harry Potter and therefore have this book as my childhood favourite. These were the first proper novels i read (if you don’t count all the Enid Blytons), and therefore always bring back childhood nostalgia. I can never forget this series.

 

Haven’t read anything spooky. Sorry.

 

Heroes Of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

It has every kind of character in it. Apart from the seven of the prophecy, it features mythological characters and creatures as well as the old characters from Percy Jackson. It has a diverse and wide cast of likable and entertaining characters.
