Anime Challenge #4 – Favourite Female Anime Character

Erza Scarlet is my favourite female anime character. This is an easy question. I am quite surprised at my decisiveness on this one, but she’s always been one of my favourite characters.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people have Erza as their favourite character and I’m not surprised. She’s one of the strongest female characters I’ve come across. But she’s not just powerful but also responsible and a great leader. I remember watching Fairytail and eagerly waiting for Erza’s fights more than anyone else’s.

Erza has a haunting past and a tough childhood but she’s always brave enough to overcome her weaknesses. As the anime progresses we get to know so much about her and her life. She’s a true warrior, always vigilant and valiant. And at the same time she’s a nineteen year old girl, hiding away her heart beneath a piece of armour. I’m not sure what made her my favourite, but strong female characters always attract my undivided attention. There was something about her, unlike the others in Fairytail. She can also be called my first anime character obsession. As FT was my first anime, and Erza might just happen to be one of the reasons why I liked it so much, she was the first anime character I got obsessed with. Maybe that’s why she still remains my favourite.

Her powers are also so cool! Changing her armours magically and having such stunning outfits. I wonder why everyone in FT finds her so intimidating. Sure she’s a little bossy at times, but hey, that does prevent Gray and Natsu from killing each other!

All in all, I admire her personality and respect her a lot. So, GO ERZA!

  2. Hi there, I don’t watch much anime as I am more of a (as you probably have gathered 😉 ) Superhero fan, that said I do really love Blood: The Last Vampire, Saya is awesome! Others I have really enjoyed are Perfect Blue and of course the classic Akira. 🙂

    1. Yeah I really enjoy your posts, though I’ve only seen superhero movies and TV shows. I also really like the theme of your site and the way it’s decorated. 🙂
      I haven’t seen a lot of anime movies myself, but I’ve heard they’re very good. I’ve heard so much about Akira!

        Akira is on my to-watch list. I’ll try to see it ASAP.
        I enjoyed the The Dark Night trilogy, Man of steel and Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy and The Avengers, to name a few. I have yet to watch Doctor Strange but I’m looking forward to it.
        As for shows I enjoy watching The Flash and Daredevil.

      3. The Flash TV show is rather wonderful indeed, my personal favourite Superhero TV show currently is Supergirl, it captures the character’s essence from the comics beautifully. Also loving the zaniness of Legends Of Tomorrow.

    1. Yes she has emotions but knows how to control herself. Unlike, Natsu who just does everything spontaneously without a second thought.
