The fabulous Birdie tagged me to do this so thank you so much! This tag looks like a lot of fun and I’m so ready to do this.

  • Randomly choose 3 books (Tip: Use the “Sort > Random” option on your Goodreads’ Read shelf.).
  • For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread (a lot like Kiss, Marry, Kill).
  • Repeat until you completed three rounds (or six).

ROUND 1 

 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6)  The Selection (The Selection, #1)  Eleanor & Park

Burn: The Selection

I don’t want to burn this book but I have no choice. This part was still better than the other two. It was actually pretty intriguing. I wish I could burn The One instead.

Rewrite: Eleanor & Park

I love this book. But the ending was really sad. I’d change the ending into a happy one and that will be it.

Reread: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter is the perfect reread. I can reread it a million times and still enjoy it. (Okay probably not a million times, but you get my point.)

ROUND 2

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)  Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2)  Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2)

Burn: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I did not like this book that much anyway. I wouldn’t mind burning it.

Rewrite: Beautiful Darkness

I don’t remember much about this book as I had read it a long time back but I know that it had some issues here and there.

Reread: Days Of Blood and Starlight

This was a great book. I would enjoy rereading it and immersing myself in Laini Taylor’s beautiful writing.

ROUND 3 

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)  Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3)  Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)

Burn: Crown Of Midnight

This is so hard! I liked this book but when put against the other two I have no choice but to burn it.

Rewrite: Winter

This book was fabulous. I won’t meddle much with it, just rewrite all the cruel things that happened with Wolf.

Reread: Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban

I so enjoyed reading this book. And like I said, all HPs are worth a reread.

ROUND 4

Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4)  Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2)  Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)

Burn: Inferno

Burning. Inferno. It matches! (pun not intended). That’s the only reason I guess.

Rewrite: Cinder

It was a nice book. But the least captivating out of all the books in this series. So maybe I’ll make a few changes.

Reread: Scarlet

I loved reading this. And I wouldn’t mind reading it again.

ROUND 5

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)  Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1)  The Alchemist

Burn: The Alchemist

Don’t get me wrong. I know it had a lot of morals and is a critically acclaimed book, but I just wasn’t able to get into it. I’m sorry.

Rewrite: Red Queen

This book had a lot of issues. Rewriting it would be a good option.

Reread: Lady Midnight

I’ll read it again and again until we get Lord of Shadows. I love it to bits.

ROUND 6

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)  Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3)  The Book Thief: 10th Anniversary Edition

Burn: Heir Of Fire

I am not sure about my opinion on this book. It was both good as well as bad.

Rewrite: A Court Of Thorns And Roses

It was good, but not great. I will try and make it better.

Reread: The Book Thief

This book was emotional and amazing. It would make a great reread.

  3. Hehe…this looked like it was really difficult to do. But I applaud you for your answers. And yes, Harry Potter and The Book Thief are totally worth rereading! I haven’t read Lady Midnight yet…I’ve finished The Infernal Devices, and am now on City of Glass…I’m glad the whole “incest” situation is now over with. I knew they weren’t really siblings, but it was awkward to read with them thinking they were…

    1. It really was! I’m already so indecisive and this did not help.
      I’m also glad they didn’t turn out to be siblings. Forbidden love is Cassie’s specialty lol. But yeah nope to incest.

      1. I’m also very indecisive. I’d probably be stressed just by the idea of burning a book I like, to be honest.
        I already knew they weren’t siblings, which why I didn’t drop the series (if I hadn’t know, I probably would’ve interrogated some followers actually). I usually don’t mind forbidden love as long as it’s used well, but no incest. Never incest.
        And no problem!

      2. Me too. I’d rather not burn any book at all.
        I was pretty shocked when I found out about them being siblings, but I somehow knew they would not be so. Incest is gross.

  4. Ooooh, I agreed with almost all of your choices, Ava (the ones I didn’t were the ones I hadn’t read, lol, so basically all XD). I definitely think you’re right about Red Queen needed some rewriting. There was a lot of issues that a rewrite could easily fix. And I super agree about rewriting Winter. It’s amazing, but poor Wolf! 😦 That poor guy went through so much. Fantastic post, Ava, and I can’t wait to do it (thanks for the tag!!)! 🙂

  5. Haha I agree with all your selections! Not that I’ve read all of these books, but many of them. And I love that Harry Potter is always a re-read…you never burn or rewrite Harry Potter!!!! 😀

  6. This one looks like tons of fun to do! I agree with all your reread options! I’d definitely reread Days of Blood & Starlight as well as Lady Midnight. Two of my favorite reads in the past months. And I agree that ACOTAR could use a touch up here and there. I’m a little torn over Red Queen. Even though I liked it the first time around, not sure if I’d rewrite it or just straight up burn it so it didn’t lead me to try reading The Glass Sword (which is hella boring) LOL. Great post, Ava!       I still haven’t gotten around to reading the Red Queen sequels. It has been so long that the entire plot has become very hazy in my mind. I don’t know when I’ll read them lol. You’re very welcome! Hope you have fun with this tag. 😊

    I totally agree with your opinions on TLC and Heir of Fire. My poor baby Wolf! 😥 Scarlet was probably the best book in the series… Not completely sure but very likely. Cinder felt more like a work in progress, I guess.
    Everything from Crown of Midnight onward was just… Sigh. I can't describe how disappointing.
    Great tag and thank you once again! I really enjoyed reading this 🙂

      Even I think that Scarlet was the best.
      Oh I was pretty disappointed with Crown of Midnight too. As much as I want to know what happens next, I just can’t seem to be able to.
