Hiccup started out as a failure to his people. He wasn’t adept at dragon killing. Suddenly, he knows the ins and outs of the creatures he is supposed to despise. He becomes popular, and in turn he tries to use his fame to create an alliance between the humans and the dragons. In the end, he changes the minds and hearts of everyone in Berk.

I didn’t like this book as much in the beginning but it only got more better as the story progressed.

Astrid is the fierce female viking. She is strong and smart, the perfect contender to be a dragon killer. She is suspicious of Hiccup and eventually discovers his secret. Once she sees the beauty in and of the dragons, she is usually by Hiccup’s side. She stands for her beliefs and helps her friend to the very end.

I have to go with Celeana for this one. She’s way too strong, powerful and vain.

Stoick the Vast. He is the leader of the vikings of Berk. He is strong, determined, and caring. He can be thoughtless, but he does feel responsible for his people. He loves his family. After a while, he sees reason and recognizes his son’s greatness. He is a proud man, but he is even more proud of his son in the end.

Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses series. He’s a perfect leader, always looking out for his people and court.

Valka goes out on her own to live with the dragons. She knows untold secrets and comes out of nowhere in the second movie. She sees the world in a different light, like her son. Nowadays, most books are a part of a series. Authors have a hard time containing their words and creative worlds = lucky us!

I hadn’t been expecting this book to be as good as it turned out to be, so I was surprised at how much it moved me.

Gobber is loyal and funny. He is a teacher, friend, blacksmith, and so much more. He supports Stoick and Valka, Hiccup, and all others. “He’s a bit gruff, but his heart is always in the right place.” (credit) If you were Gobber, which book characters would you ship?

Rhysand and Feyre, Harry and Luna,  Zuzanna and Mik, to name a few.

Snotlout is impulsive. He speaks his mind and does what he wants. He is rude and also flirty. If he was a book lover, I’m sure he would buy a book because of an enticing cover, intriguing synopsis, or just because he can. Is there a book that you bought simply because?

I didn’t knew much about the book before buying it. But the cover attracted my attention and I just had to buy it.

Family and friends are the most important aspect in one’s life. Sometimes the representations in books are optimal (while other times the representation is non-existent). Books can contain perfect, desirable relationships that we all want to be a part of, so choose a book with a family or friend bond that you wish were real in your own life.

I love the friendship between Karou and Zuzanna! They always have each others back, no matter what.

Fishlegs is intelligent. He knows dragons by the book, and by the book only. He inspires knowledge in himself and in others. As with Fishlegs, sometimes books make one want to learn something new, research a new topic, try a new experience, or go somewhere exciting. Name a book that makes you want to expand you horizons.

I got really interested in Greek mythology after reading this series.

Toothless is a Night Fury. He is the only one left of his kind, making him extremely rare. He is loyal, fast, intelligent, and cute. Find the bookish equivalent to Toothless, a novel that is not read too often/under-hyped that you adore.

I think this book is very underrated. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to everyone.

Those in the Boulder Class are solid and resilient. Meatlug in particular is tough, obstinate, slow, and lazy. Sometimes it is hard to pick up the motivation one needs to complete a task. Other times, there are bumps in the road, rocky obstacles that get in one’s way. Despite the struggle, we have to rise about the challenge and persevere.

Karou is one of the most resilient characters I’ve ever come across.

Not much is known about the Mystery Class, hence the name. Dragons in this class are cunning and stealthy making them feared above the others. Barf and Belch are a part of this conundrum. While they share one body, each head has it’s own personality. To be effective they must work together.

The mystery was pretty interesting, but quite predictable.

“Sharp Class dragons are vain and prideful, and they all possess sharp body parts.” (credit) These dragons are sleek and shine, honor and self-respect. They are beautiful and graceful with their pointed limbs and they know it.

Celeana Sardothien from Throne of Glass series. She’s too full of herself.

Stoker dragons are small and unruly. They can literally set themselves on fire making them hotheaded. This class is an explosion in a tiny package. Find a book that is small, in physical size or page number, that is full of action, mystery, or willful characters.

It doesn’t have a lot of pages, but even those few pages have an adventure of a lifetime.

Rare, powerful, inflexible, and loyal. These are some of the descriptor words for a dragon in the Strike Class. More prominent traits of the Strike Class also include blazing speed, cleverness, strength, and navigation. They are very rare, but very mighty. They are like a wild mustang horse: hard to train but loyal in the end.

I think I finished this 500 paged novel in a single day! It was just too exciting.

As the title suggests, Tigal dragons are associated with water, specifically the ocean. Those in this class are usually larger than most other classes. Water can be soothing, but not with dragons. For most book lovers, we enjoy a relaxing read near the water (as long as your book doesn’t get wet). For dragons, find a book that matches their habitat in setting.

“Natural born hunters, Tracker Class dragons have a highly acute sense of smell or taste that enables them to track down and find things.” (credit) Sadly, we humans are not trackers. There are some forms of books that are hard to find, like versions from other countries, special editions, hardcopy VS. paperback, ARCs, and more. Like Stormfly, these books are a torturing “mix of beauty and brutality.”

Oh my god, I can name so many books for this.

    1. You’re very welcome! The cover of Red Queen is so attractive that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an impulse buy for a lot of people.
I too have a lot of tags piled up, so I can understand what you’re going through lol. 🙂

  3. I loved your answers, Ava! 🙂 So glad you had this up so quickly!
And you got me really intrigued by Daughter of Smoke and Bone… I’ve heard so many mixed reviews but I definitely like the fact that there’s a great female bond in it as well as a strong heroine. What could possibly not be good about a book like that?
Thanks for the shoutout and keep up the awesome work ^^ ❤

    1. Thanks, Sophie! I’ve been trying to stay as regular on tags as I could, because they pile up so easily!
You should definitely read DoSaB whenever you can! I really really enjoyed reading it.
      You’re very welcome! :”)

    1. Then you certainly should give it a read as soon as you can. Or maybe wait a few months till the final part of the trilogy releases, and then you won’t have to wait for any cliffhangers! 🙂
      You’re welcome!

  4. Thanks so much for the tag, Ava! You just made me soooo want to read ACoTaR. I keep feeling the need to read Maas’s books lately, and you just totally made me want to read it even more. D: I also agree that I would totally get sucked in with that Red Queen cover too. And I’m hoping somehow all of those books get to you soon since they are so good – I’ll try and talk to the book gods for you!! D: Such a fun post and thanks again for the tag! ❤

    1. You’re so very welcome!!
You should definitely give it a read whenever you can! The first part might seem a little boring but the second part more than makes up for it!
That cover is so pretty, I’m glad you agree. 🙂
Aw that’s so sweet of you! I hope the book gods answer your prayers lol (which I think they will, since you’re such a devoted reader!)
      Thanks a ton, Mandy! 🙂

  5. Cheers for the tag! Love your answers. Totally agree with you on Rhys being a strong leader; and I’m so into Greek mythology, it’s actually the reason why I picked up Percy Jackson in the first place. And it’s also funny you should mention Caraval…I JUST read the book yesterday lol:D Again, thanks for the tag!

    1. Thanks a lot!
I can’t praise Rhys enough for all that he has done for his court and his people. I truly LOVE him (why is he fictional? *sobs*)
Wow then you must have been able appreciate the book even more. In hindsight, I think Rick Riordan did a great job with the mythology.
You’re welcome! Can’t wait to see your answers to these questions! 🙂

  6. Okay let me get my thoughts in order:
    1. Finishing the PJO series had me looking up random Greek Mythology facts for like 4 hours straight; I was obsessed! But y’know, I think no one narrates a mythology better than Riordan himself, so I’ll just go on with the other series to satisfy my hunger.
    2. I want to read the ACOTAR trilogy so bad now that you talked about it so much but I have to wait for book 3 to come out because I know waiting for book releases is such an agony *pained sigh*
    3. I’ve started Daughter of Smoke and Bone some time ago but somehow, with a sad guilty pinch, never got round to finishing it… you think it’s worth a second shot?
    4. There’s this website called bookdepository.com where they have free worldwide shipping. I’ve tried it a few times, and although the shipment can sometimes take some time, it’s worth it. Also, they give cute bookmarks with each book, so that’s something XD

AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR TAGGING ME! I loved your answers and can’t wait to write my own~ Great post, mate xx

    1. Right, I’ll answer in order as well –
      1. You’re right. Even though I got interested in Greek Mythology, I eventually gave up on it as well. Rick Riordan has a way of making everything sound so cool and riveting, and well he also got me interested in Roman and Egyptian mythology! I used to have such a great time throwing random mythological facts at my oblivious friends and feeling good about myself.
      2. Oh well, that’s better. You should definitely go with your plan because trust me, after finishing ACOMAF I wasn’t able to stop thinking about WHAT would happen next. The wait is still killing me right at this moment!
      3. That kind of happened with me too. But I wasn’t able to set it aside and picked it up again. Maybe it’s coz Laini Taylor’s writing style is a little different (atleast in my opinion). But the story is really amazing and the writing kind of grows on you. The first book is good, but the sequels are even better, so you should surely give it a second shot. Hope you like it.
      4. Yes, I’ve heard of this website and after much research and googling, I’ve found out that unfortunately, it doesn’t ship to where I live! *sobs* It used to, but now it stopped delivering here. And that makes me sad because most of the rare international giveaways out there use book depository! I’ll just go cry in a corner and contemplate my sad life.
YOU’RE SO VERY WELCOME! I hope you have fun doing this tag. Can’t wait to see your answers! 🙂

      1. 1. Oh the great Egyptian mythology trivia I threw at everyone I meet.. good times xD
        2. *adds the trilogy as a definite anticipated tbr*
        3. I’ll have to buy the other two books then!
        4. Oh God nooooooo. You know if I could, I’d send the books over to you myself, because it definitely sucks 😥

And I know I’ll have fun doing this tag just because I was tagged by you anyway xx

      2. My Egyptian and Romania mythology isn’t as good as my Greek mythology though. It’s been a while since I read the Kane Chronicles!
Yay! I hope you enjoy the trilogies (both ACOTAR and DoSaB)
It’s okay. It’s happened to me so many times that I can’t even count, so I’ve learned to cope up with my broken heart. (I’ll never fully get used to it though) But thank you for your concern!
Aw you’re always such a sweetheart!

      3. My Romania mythology is technically nonexistent; I have yet to endeavour that trilogy. And I hope I enjoy them too so that I could rant and fangirl on them with you~
And hopefully they’d return the feature where they ship for your country because that’s just downright unfair!
And awaah *blush blush* thank you and right back at you xx

      4. Wait a minute, my stupid auto correct changed Roman to Romania! I was talking about Roman mythology lol!
Yes, it’s so awesome to fangirl over stuff, and I really enjoy it with you!
I hope so too! They’ve got some pretty amazing books on sale.
        xx

  7. Ah I love this tag! Loved all you choices 🙂 I love Karou and Zuzanna’s relationship, too and I definitely agree that Rhys is definitely a leader. Celaena was a great pick for a vain yet powerful female character and I’ve been meaning to read I’ll Give You the Sun, as I’ve read so many positive reviews on it. I’ll have to bump it up my TBR so I can get around to it sometime this year! I hope you one day manage to get your hands on those books! All three of those books are pretty amazing, especially Six of Crows!! I’d love to read you thoughts on them one day 😀

    1. Thank you! Karoo and Zuzanna have an amazing bond. And Rhys, I just totally love him lol.
I’ll Give You The Sun is my favourite contemporary, not that I’ve read a lot of them. But it’s a beautiful book.
Don’t worry! I finally got my hands on Six Of Crows! 😀😊

      1. Oh god that is so true. It’s so good you never want it to end, but you desperately want to know how it ends haha. Reading is such a cruel hobby XD LOL
