Anime Challenge #2 – Favorite Anime I Watched So Far

There are a lot of animes that I absolutely love and enjoy, but if I were to choose only one, it would be Code Geass : Lelouch of the rebellion. It is a brilliant anime, to say the least.

Lelouch vi Britannia commands you to see this anime!

It is one of those animes that have a little of everything in them, without leaving you disappointed or dissatisfied. I admit that the animation seems slightly different, what with the extremely elongated characters, but I agree that it only seems different on first glance.

It is a story of a brother’s undying love for his sister, a bond between two childhood friends, revenge against the injustice done to a family, rebellion against the cruel rule of a monarchy and lastly, a power that allows one to make anyone obey their commands. The power of the Geass. It also perfectly captures the backlash of possessing such a power and the mistakes Lelouch makes and the lessons he learns on the way. But it’s not always this serious. It’s got some light hearted, school life moments in it as well. The story is exceptional and very progressive and we see the characters grow and change. It’s not always just centered around Lelouch as well. It’s a beautiful story of love and sacrifice.

The character of Lelouch is amazing, with all its flaws. Every character is different and has his/her own part to play in the story. It is simply OUTSTANDING. I can’t even put to words how realistically accurate the characters are!

All that being said, I should perhaps add that it does seem a little boring in the beginning, but, takes the pace after a few episodes and only elevates after that. And the ending! It is such a bittersweet ending.

The anime has a way of messing your emotions.

So, if you haven’t seen it yet, go see it already! You won’t regret it.

And if you have then you know what I’m talking about and we can all cry together.

But what about you? What’s your favorite anime so far? I’d love to hear your views.

Thanks for reading!

  1. This one brings back memories!

Code Geass used to be my favourite Anime, a long time ago.

You’re right, Lelouch is a very awesome character and the story is pretty good.

I also never found the character designs that weird, since I’m a big fan of CLAMP, the artists who did designs, so I went into this having already read a ton of CLAMP manga.

I’m glad Code Geass is still an exciting show and hasn’t faded into obscurity. It’s been a long time since I last watched it, but it’s pretty solid in my book!

I liked the first season better though.

Thanks your thoughts! Looking forward to the next one! šŸ™‚

    1. Well it’s only been two years since I saw it for the first time and it has remained a favorite ever since. Even I liked the first season better, but the ending was pretty good. And you don’t have to worry about it being forgotten, this is the kind of anime that leaves an impression that cannot be forgotten that easily.

      1. I last watched the show maybe 3 years ago? Possibly 4? I can’t remember haha.

I have the DVDs for both seasons as well, the limited edition ones too. I used to be obsessed with the series, I should really fire those discs up sometime and give it a rewatch when I’ve got some free time.

Don’t get me wrong though, while the second season wasn’t as good, it was still great on its own. I had a few issues with it, but the ending was absolutely incredible and made up for all of them. I was completely satisfied at the end and that’s what every show should try to achieve.

Unfortunately, many shows don’t do the same šŸ˜›

And no problem! I really enjoy your posts so I’m always happy to give them a read. I should really get to work on my version of this post too. I love talking about my favourite show at every possible opportunity, so I’m going to have fun with this one.

      2. The ending always gets me. No matter how good a show is, if the ending isn’t satisfying it is not considered as great.
Can’t wait to read about your favorite anime! You seem to have a great taste so I’m really looking forward to it.

    1. Death note is one of my favorites. It lost to code Geass because of its second season. The first season is genius! An eleven out of ten.
Hope you enjoyed the post šŸ™‚

  2. This has been on my to-watch list for the longest time. There are a bunch of classics (does Code Geass qualify for that yet? xD maybe well-known is a good term since I feel old typing classics) I just missed out on! Reading your post, I think I should bump it up.

I’m not sure if it can be called a classic though, well known is a better term haha.Even I haven’t seen all the CLASSICS yet. šŸ™‚
You should really give it a watch. I’m sure you’ll like it! Thanks for reading!

    1. Yes these are my favorites too, along with shingeki no kyogen. All four of them are so amazing in their own ways!
Hope you liked this post. Thanks for reading šŸ™‚

  4. Orange! Haha. I just had to. I love those Jeremiah scenes. I love your choice for your favorite anime. Code Geass is one of my favorites as well.

There are so many moments where you think things are going to turn out okay but then there’s tons of episodes left so you know something is bound to ruin everything (Yuffie *cough**cough*).

And you’re totally right. Bittersweet ending. Overall it’s just an amazing anime!

    1. Ohh the euffie scene was such a shock! There are just so many twists and turns, and not all of them are the happy ones. Nonetheless, it is still an amazing anime. Thanks for reading! šŸ™‚
I have yet to see Orange but it must be really awesome if it’s your favourite.

      1. Sorry! I don’t think I was clear. I haven’t seen Orange yet either. I actually meant the scene in Code Geass where Lelouch says “Orange” to Jeremiah and he thinks it’s a secret code. And after that people keep calling him Orange šŸ˜€
